David Allen Welsh è un clochard 50 enne: suona in piano come autodidatta e spesso si esibisce in un locale di Vancouver. Prima di arrivare in Canada viveva per strada, dormiva sui treni, e mangiava alle mense per i senzatetto degli Stati Uniti. Non ha mai studiato musica, non conosce gli spartiti, ma quando suona lascia tutti a bocca aperta. Alla Abc News, che lo ha intervistato, ha confessato: "A volte non so nemmeno quali tasti stia spingendo. I miei occhi sono chiusi, mi lascio solo trasportare dalla musica".

E questo commento  trovato in rete   << storia vecchissima, e manco e' cosi' bravo. e non e' vero che conosce le note perche' le uniche cose che sa fare sono le scale melodiche (manco quelle armoniche), cosa che si studia nei primi 2 anni di pianoforte. piuttosto non sa una mazza di armonia, cio' che suona dimostra una ottusita' e poverta' di argomenti senza limiti. >>sulla pagina facebook dell'unione sarda . 

Ora sia che sia roba vecchia o meno , che abbia intrapreso lezioni di pianoforte come dicono alcuni commenti all'articolo del dailymail  o dell'unione  , non ricordo , oppure  sia  una provocazione   come  quella  del violinista  Joshua Bell ( ne avevo parlato   qui da qualche parte ne trovate una sintesi  in questi link  :   news  e  video   ) quella  del famoso  ed  anonimo imprendibile . witer  Banksy ha venduto per  strada in una semplice bancarella  ( vedere video sotto  e  qui la  news  da  cui  è tratto il vid.feo  )




alcune  sue  opere raccogliendo 420 dollari, per opere il cui valore complessivo è stato stimato intorno ai 200 mila dollari. Tra gli acquirenti delle opere di Banksy ci sono stati un ragazzo che cercava qualcosa per decorare la sua casa di Chicago e una signora, che ha comprato due quadretti facendosi fare uno sconto del 50 per cento.

 o  non concordo completamente    con il commento in di di facebook    . Infatti  nonostante   ne capisca pochissimo di strutture musicali avendo avuto alle media prof di educazione musicale ( un tempo si chiama cosi ) ,tropo severi ed essendo ribelle non le imparate granchè , e  per  in maniera  incostante  provai delle lezioni private di piano forte , problemi di udito , pur nella sua limitatezza ,infatti come  mi   stato fatto notare  da   un amico  pianista  <<  esso  è   praticamente privo di qualsiasi senso o tecnica pianistica. Il video non viene presentato come un incoraggiamento, o come di un colore "emotivo", libero da schemi o costrizioni, ma come di un fenomeno pianistico, cosa che ti  assicuro,e  ti posso  garantire che non e'. >> mi sembra dotato e promettente   se  tale  cosa  sarà  continua  e costante

This is the moment a homeless man whose frostbitten fingers have been left deformed after years of living on the street stunned customers in a second hand store with his god given talent for music.
David Allen Welsh grew up riding on trains and flitting between homeless shelters in Iowa and North and South Dakota after losing his home at the age of six.
After settling in the Pacific Northwest ten years ago, the 50-year-old has been visiting Second Hand Solutions in Vancouver, Washington, twice a month for the last year to play the piano.

Mr Walsh recalls teaching himself how to play the instrument on borrowed pianos at homeless shelters throughout his childhood.
Despite bringing classical music enthusiasts to tears with his performances, the man cannot read a single note.
'I showed a video of him playing to a piano teacher and she pointed out immediately that he's using his left hand as a primary and his right hand to play the melody,' said Rebecca Gore, the store's assistant manager.

'I don't know how to play music, but I like what I hear in my head,' the 50-year-old told ABC news
'Sometimes I don't even know what key I'm pushing. My eyes aren't even open, I'm just letting the music play the music.'
James Maynard, a customer who lives next door to the store, welled up when he heard the man playing.

'He started to play and I choked on my coffee and it started coming out my nose!' said the longtime classical music enthusiast.
'I had tears coming to my eyes when I saw his fingers go down one end of the piano to the other.'
Mr Welsh says sharing his gift has helped him through tough times, and that it's as though his fingers are moved by a divine power.

'It's a joy that surpasses all understanding, that's what I felt. 'A lot of people in the room had the same spiritual experience.'
